Hi %%Name%%,

Welcome to Productivity Plus, your weekly newsletter on how to get more done in less time.

VALERIE'S TIP: Batch your out-of-office meetings
27-vk.jpgMeetings can take up a lot of time. And out-of-office meetings can sometimes commandeer your entire day if you need to travel to them. You end up having very little time left to sit at your desk and complete the tasks that have been piling up while you’ve been away.

Instead of agreeing to meetings whenever you have a blank space in your diary, it can be useful to:

  • Block out a “meeting day” or “meeting morning” where you can batch all your meetings and get them over with in one go
  • Be clear about where your meetings are located and try to arrange them to minimise travel time and back-tracking
  • At the start of each meeting, determine how long the meeting will go for – and ensure you get through your agenda in that time.
  • Prepare and distribute the agenda beforehand so everyone is clear on what needs to be discussed. A meeting without an agenda is a disaster!

One-day workshop Friday 7 August 2009: Upgrading to Office 2007Have you recently upgraded to Office 2007?
27-upgrade.jpgIs your team struggling with the NEW features, tabs and ribbons? Even though it's the same suite of programs, Office 2007 can seem like a whole new software package. You need to use it in a different way to previous versions.

If you have upgraded from Office 2003 (or earlier), all you need is the right training to learn our intuitive way to navigate your new software. At the end of the workshop, your team will get rid of frustrating attempts to figure out how
Office 2007 works. They will become power users of this new software.

What: Upgrading to Office 2007
When
: Friday 7 August 2009
Time: 9am to 5pm (one day workshop)
Cost: $325 (includes GST)

You will receive:
* a comprehensive take-home manual which is a handy reference for the future.
* complimentary phone or email support on Office 2007 after the course so that all your queries are answered.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

A better, smarter, faster way to work
* Take advantage of powerful time-saving features to format quickly, produce documents faster and enhance your presentation - these are NEW to Office 2007.

* Discover how to quickly insert your Company Profile, Product Descriptions or Legal Disclaimers that you use frequently.

An easier way to number-crunch
* Enhance your spreadsheets with quick 3D charts and colourful comparisons.

Professional presentation has never been easier
* You don’t have to be a graphic designer to impress your audience with quality presentations, but you do need to know how to produce them quickly and efficiently. We’ll show you how to save time on the “fashion” so you can focus on the “function”.

Don’t be a “slave” to your Inbox.
* Achieve Inbox Zero by marking your emails with coloured Flags for Follow-Up. Now your emails become “Follow-ups” in your To Do List - it’s that easy.
* Outlook 2007 is NEW and improved. It's more than just emails and contacts - we’ll show you how to manage your time and workflow.

Here's what past participant Sonia Kim says about the course:
"Fantastic, covered everything I expected and more, in a friendly and approachable manner."

PAUL’S QUICK CLICK: Work like a genius!
27-genius.jpgYou may already be familiar with the Excel shortcut to AutoSum:

Hold Alt and press Equals.
That's Alt + =

Similarly, in MS Word 2007 you can insert professional equations such

e = mc2 as using Alt + =

Genius! (relatively speaking). PAUL'S KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS: For Legal Reasons27-legal.jpgIf you require your documents to be Double-Spaced, such as Affidavits and contracts:

Hold Ctrl and press 2
That's Ctrl + 2

To return to Single-Spacing:

Ctrl + 1

Too easy!

AWESOME ACCESSORY: Autobots and Decepticons Cufflinks
27-cufflinks.jpgAutobots... Roll out (on your sleeve).

If you're a fan of Transformers, you'll love these Autobots and Decepticons cufflinks. You just never know, these cufflinks might just turn your car into a guardian robot (tranformational effect on car not guarenteed).

Find it here.
