THE LATEST TRAVEL NEWS FROM REHO TRAVEL — Summer 2008

Hi this is Sheridan

Dad asked me if I would help him write the summer newsletter. He said "Sheridan, nobody knows what kids like to do on holidays better than another kid."

So I told dad we should have lots of really great holiday stuff for parents and kids too.

My parts are in pink like this. These are really for kids to read, but its ok if adults read them too so you know what holidays kids like.

You just can't go in the competition ok? That's only for kids, but you can help them enter if you want.

The bits dad wrote are in green like this. They are good for parents but might be a bit boring for kids.

If you would like some help with your holiday, you can just call us or email us. I won't be here because I'll be in school, but everyone at Travel With Kidz has done lots of travel with their own family so they probably know even more than I could tell you anyway.

We hope you like our newsletter a lot.

And everyone says Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Sheridan (and Dad)

Sheridan's top 10 travel experiences

Mum and dad have taken me to some places in the world that I will never forget. Here are my favourite memories:

 1. Zanzibar – Having my hair braided on the beach
 2. Tanzania – Seeing 3 lions kill a wildebeest while their cubs looked on
 3. Kenya – Dancing with the Masai
 4. Argentina – Getting rescued by boat when the road was flooded
 5. Belize – Swimming with stingrays and sharks
 6. Malawi – Waking up in our tent and picking fresh mangos
 7. Botswana – Floating on a makoro through the Okavango Delta
 8. Costa Rica – Ziplining above the rainforest and looking down seeing monkeys
 9. Guatemala – Meeting girls in a village that were much older but shorter than me
10. Borneo – Having a python wrapped around my neck...and then unwrapped :)

My travel diary from the eyes of an 11 year old

Africa 2008

Day 2 Lake Nakuru
I am now sleeping on the couch feeling better. This is Dads story so I will let him tell it. Sheridan was looking very very pale as she was standing in the restaurant then BLEH there goes her lunch. I grabbed a plate to catch it, and after the drama, handed the plate to a waiter, said “thanks mate” and left the room. So that’s my story for today, and I then sat by the pool.

Day 6 Serengeti
If you were reading this diary properly you would have realised that wildebeests are dumb. Well here is the story, Zebras can see very well but cannot hear as well, that is the opposite for wildebeests so they stick together. So if it is a normal day drive down the road they all go in a line and run in front of the truck then if we move an inch they decide to go back. How stupid!

Day 16 Lake Malawi
We woke up early to leave to go further down the lake. It only felt like a little while but it was a long way. When we got there, there was a sign that said “Do not swim before 6.30am and after 6.30pm as Crocodiles and Hippos will be awake. I felt really scared about that until a man told me that he’s never seen them before. We then set up our camp under a mango tree and near the sands edge. It was a beautiful spot, we then had dinner and went to bed.

Dad's travel diary. Kind of.
My Dad wrote some really good stories about our holiday and took some beautiful photos too. If you want to see them just click here.

Kids dairy competition "the best day of my holiday"
I would love to hear about your holiday too so I asked Dad and he said I could run a competition for kids.

Just send me some pages from your travel diary about the best day of your holiday. If we put it in the next newsletter you could win a prize. Click here to send me your story and good luck.
